What to Look for at the 2019 Florida Film Festival

If you want lunch and a look at this year’s Florida Film Festival, Enzian has a deal for you.

The Maitland theater will present what it bills as “an intimate lunch” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tim Anderson, the festival programming coordinator, will review the 184-film schedule and help fans make their selections for the 10-day event.

Tickets to Saturday’s luncheon cost $20. You’ll learn more at enzian.org. The theater is at 1300 S. Orlando Ave.

The 28th annual festival runs April 12-21. The opening night film is the documentary “Woman in Motion” and tells how “Star Trek” actress Nichelle Nichols helped recruit minority astronauts for NASA. Director-producer Todd Thompson lives in Celebration.

Another local selection of note: “Marching Forward,” a documentary about Orlando, civil rights, high-school marching bands and the 1960s.

Playing now at Enzian: “Gloria Bell” with Oscar winner Julianne Moore.
