Weekend Of The Arts Returns To Winter Park This February
The Winter Park Arts & Cultural Alliance is excited to bring back the Weekend of the Arts from February 21-23, celebrating the city’s dynamic arts scene. This interactive event will highlight the significance of the arts in Winter Park, featuring a wide range of free activities for all ages.
Highlights Of The Weekend of the Arts
The Weekend of the Arts aims to showcase the contributions of local arts nonprofits, engaging both residents and visitors. The objective is to boost the visibility and appreciation of the arts in Winter Park.
The Alliance, consisting of 20 local organizations, was founded in 2017 to promote Winter Park’s nonprofit arts and cultural entities. The first Weekend of the Arts took place in February 2018, followed by a 2019 event, but was paused due to the pandemic. Thanks to a grant from the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, the event is back with an exciting lineup.

- Friday, Feb. 21: Kickoff event in Central Park
- Saturday, Feb. 22: Community event featuring Main Stage performances and interactive stations on the North Lawn
- Sunday, Feb. 23: Programming at various arts venues across the city
Importance Of The Weekend Of The Arts
Given the recent $32 million cut in state cultural and museum grants, this event is more crucial than ever. A 2022 survey revealed that Winter Park arts groups offered over 6,000 creative opportunities, 2,700 educational experiences for students, and free events for 787,000 attendees. The arts community also employs around 77 full-time and 185 part-time staff, along with 923 contractors.
Support From The Community
At a recent gathering at the Winter Park Events Center, the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation announced a $50,000 grant to support the Weekend of the Arts. On Saturday, each Winter Park arts organization will showcase special exhibits and programming. For instance, the Winter Park History Museum will offer a “Hands-on History” exhibit, featuring interactive items from its archives.
Winter Park Playhouse will host a Saturday afternoon performance with discounted tickets to their production of The Bikinis.
Engaging The Community
Saturday’s schedule is designed to encourage dining and shopping on Park Avenue, with arts-related menu items, drink specials, and appearances by local artists. Plans for the Friday kickoff event are still being finalized, and on Sunday, the public is encouraged to visit museums and galleries throughout the city.
Alice Moulton, public relations manager for the Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival, welcomed the event, noting its perfect timing before their festival and its focus on local arts groups.
Final details for the Weekend of the Arts will be announced by late summer, with promotions starting shortly after. The 2025 event aims to become a key part of Winter Park’s annual calendar, celebrating the city’s vibrant arts community
