Toys For Tots Is Gearing Up For Another Campaign In Orlando, Florida | 2022
Since 1991, Toys for Tots has been campaigning in the Central Florida area and providing holiday toys for children in need by the tens of thousands. Now, the time for giving in Central Florida is upon us once again. Toys for Tots is gearing up for another campaign in Orlando, Florida as the holidays close in. Officials have said that the need for toy donation is greater this year than previous years. Nearly 200,000 children in our local area are expected to benefit from this year’s toy drive.
If you don’t know, Toys for Tots is an organization ran by the United States Marines. In its basic form, the mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Program is to collect new unwrapped toys and distribute those toys to less fortunate children around the holidays. The main goal of Marine Toys for Tots is, through the gift of new toys, to help bring the joy of the holidays to local families and to send a message of hope to our country’s less fortunate children.
How Are Donations To Toys For Tots Handled And Disbursed?
Toy donation collection includes a combination of locally donated toys, those purchased by the Toys for Tots Foundation, and those donated by companies and corporations. The toys are then sent to a distribution center where the toys are sorted, organized, and distributed. However, Toys for Tots is facing an issue this year. The organization needs a workshop for all their elves to be able to sort, organize, and distribute the collected toys.

Donating unopened toys for Toys for Tots is simple. Most of us are familiar with the Toys for Tots drop off boxes scattered across town. However, your drop box location may not be the same as it was last year when you dropped off your donations.
