Top Pizza spots in Orlando 2021

Pizza, for many, is just a Friday night tradition. For others (myself included), it may as well be a lifestyle. To me, pizza is a powerful all-in-one food group that comforts souls and an easy get out of cooking dinner-free card.

But pizza in Orlando – how does that work? It’s true – Orlando is no Chicago or New York; in fact, we’re not even close. But while you’re visiting us here in the Sunshine State, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some great pies (that go beyond your delivery classics) that you’ve got to try!

Brick & Fire

The locals love Brick & Fire – for Chef Mark’s welcoming attitude, for 50-cent wing night, for regular wine specials, for Italian entrees, but most of all for the pizza. Like anyplace else, you’re welcome to build your own but the house and specialty pies are a foodie’s delight.

From the Milano – with its Italian sausage, Portobello mushrooms, and balsamic-roasted red onions to the Chicken Club with bacon and gruyere, bacon, tomato, and baby greens, Brick & Fire delivers not only delicious pizzas but creative combinations. Gourmands can sample it with duck confit; true carnivores can do their best to take down a pie with eight different types of meat piled on. Game on.

Tornatore’s Pizzeria

The menu of Italian cuisine is recommended to degust at this pizzeria. You will be served tasty Pepperoni, spinach ravioli, and Caprese salads. Tornatore’s Pizzeria provides good cannolis, tiramisu and profiteroles. Delicious marsala is served – try and enjoy. It’s nice to taste great coffee.

Francesco’s

Francesco’s has a decidedly more upscale atmosphere than your average grab-a-slice pizzeria to be sure, but stuffy it isn’t. Its broad menu, often accented by a wonderful appetizer and entrée special, will not disappoint, and its pizza – gooey, hot from the oven, and generously topped is really, really good. Try one of the house pies – Quattro Stagioni, with ham, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers, is exceptional – or create your own. And it’s always fun to check out the action in the eatery’s open kitchen where the staffers seem to be enjoying themselves amid the fray. Reservations are recommended for busy weekend nights.

Giordano’s

The great thing about Giordano’s is that there is a location right in the heart of our tourist district, so it’s readily available, and they offer delivery (heck – you can even ship a pizza through Giordano’s). With their original establishments hailing from the Windy City, they offer authentic deep-dish, thin-crust pizza, along with other menu options. Just keep in mind that deep-dish pies take upwards of 45 minutes to bake.

Blaze Pizza

Blaze Pizza calls their executive chef, Bradford Kent, “The Pizza Whisperer” – and that’s kind of a title I’m jealous I don’t have.

Fully customizable, Blaze pizzas are fast-fired, with locations around Orlando. Made-from-scratch dough and healthful, artisanal ingredients also await you on their assembly line. Yep, Blaze Pizza is kind of like the Subway of pizzas – but, you know, much, much better because it’s pizza!

They offer gluten-free and vegan options, and their packaging is also recyclable, compostable, and/or made from reclaimed materials. Straws, lids, and cups are made from plants – so, they get bonus points for being environmentally friendly, too!

Red Oven Pizza Bakery

Red Oven Pizza Bakery is in the Universal Studios Resort area. For a pizza found at an amusement park, it’s authentic as far as pizza goes. Their pizzas are made oven fresh right there in a traditional stone-lined oven, so you get that crispy crunch in your pizza crust. Vegan options are also available as well as pasta, salads, and a wine selection.
