Splash Mountain Is Closed But Is Still Disney’s Most Popular Ride

Splash Mountain is closed but is still Disney’s most popular ride. A new survey has discovered the most popular rides at Disney World. Disney World is the most popular theme park on the globe. Numbers from before the pandemic show Magic Kingdom as the world leader in theme park attendance, with the attraction hosting nearly 21 million guests. Disney World’s other parks, like Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Hollywood Studios, all make the top 10 in the world for attendance. They a combined guest total of more than 58 million visitors.

Splash Mountain Is Still The Favorite Among Disney Goers

Although it no longer exists, a new study says Splash Mountain is still Disney World’s most popular attraction. New research from Disney travel planning experts MagicGuides shows the most popular Disney rides at the theme park, with the recently closed Splash Mountain taking the number one spot.

MagicGuides accumulated data for every ride from all the parks at Disney; Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Hollywood Studios, to discover the winners. Three key analytics were taken into consideration: Instagram hashtag usage, ratings from TripAdvisor, and the search volume on a monthly average.

The beloved Splash Mountain received an average of over 200,000 searches each month, over 300,000 hashtags on Instagram, and a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of a possible 5 stars. Disney has decided to cancel Splash Mountain and renovate the attraction. This transformation will turn, what was once Splash Mountain into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. It is inspired by Disney’s Princess and the Frog.

Splash Mountain Opened In The Early Nineties

Splash Mountain, which opened in the early nineties, was based on the 1946 film Song of the South. It has since been labeled racially insensitive by movie critics and historians. It is said to be packed with hurtful stereotypes. This is why Splash Mountain was shut down and will be converted into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. However, hardcore Disney fans tried their best to save the ride. Some even attempted to sell bottles of Splash Mountain water on eBay for ridiculous amounts.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure May Be Finished In 2024

Other rides were studied, such as the Tower of Terror which received the most hashtags of all the rides on Instagram. Space Mountain holds the record for the second most searched attraction on Google, and Animal Kingdom boasts the only 5 out of 5-star rating on TripAdvisor with their hit rollercoaster, Expedition Everest.
