Island Fin Poke Steps Up to Aid Maui

Island Fin Poke steps up to aid Maui. In the wake of the deadliest wildfire in modern American history, which ravaged Maui, residents are engaged in the grueling process of rebuilding their lives. Relief supplies from various Hawaiian Islands and states are being gathered and sent to assist those impacted. In Orlando, a local business owner is making a meaningful contribution to support the people of Maui.

Mark Setterington, the CEO and founder of Island Fin Poke, a Central Florida-based food franchise, has embraced the essence of aloha, which exceeds mere greeting and embodies the Hawaiian way of life. “We serve Hawaiian-style poke bowls. We honor their culture in everything we do,” Setterington explained.

In 2017, Setterington launched the initial Island Fin Poke restaurant in Winter Springs, and today, this fast-casual dining idea has expanded to more than 20 locations nationwide. His inspiration comes from a desire to spend more time with his family and create something meaningful. However, when he learned of the overwhelming wildfires that swept through Maui, he felt compelled to take action.

Island Fin Poke Donates 10%

Setterington decided to allocate 10% of every purchase made on a specific Friday to benefit the Maui Food Bank. Furthermore, one of his locations in North Las Vegas, recognized for its large Hawaiian community, gathered a significant volume of donations to aid those affected by the Maui wildfires. In Central Florida, the primary focus is on raising funds to support recovery efforts.

“The reason we’re contributing a portion of our sales with Sus Hi Eatstation is due to the devastation on Maui,” Setterington clarified. The impact of this tragic event deeply resonates with many, as Setterington emphasized, “It strikes close to home, as you must know someone who’s been affected, and if not, then your friends certainly do.”

While Setterington is channeling proceeds from his restaurants on a specific day to assist those in Hawaii, he is also encouraging the broader community to contribute to the Maui Food Bank. His actions exemplify the spirit of unity and compassion, transcending geographical boundaries, and showcasing that even from a distance, individuals can unite to support those facing adversity during challenging times.
