National Chicken Wing Day is an annually celebrated holiday which falls on July 29th. It celebrates one of the most popular appetizers in America. It is a day on which many Americans grab some wet wipes to clean up the mess they make after consuming their part of the 1.25 billion chicken wings that are consumed just during the Super Bowl. So, if you are a fan of these bite-sized morsels and want an excuse to eat even more of them, then this holiday might be one you’ll want to celebrate.

National Girlfriend Day

National Girlfriend Day is a holiday that is observed on August 1st. It is a day on which men can take the time to show their girlfriends just how important they are to them. People can take their girlfriends out on the town, buy them something nice such as flowers or jewelry or merely take the time to hang out with them. This holiday does not have to be just about people doing things for their significant others, however.

This day can also be used to celebrate the friendship between women. Women can observe this holiday by commemorating their female friends. Sisters’ Day

Celebrated on the first Sunday of August on an annual basis, Sister’s Day is a fun holiday in which sisters can acknowledge the bonds of love and friendship between them and celebrate the special relationship that only exists between them and their sister – or sisters, as the case may be.  And while this holiday was initially established to acknowledge the relationship between biological sisters, over the years, more and more people are celebrating “sister-like” relationships that may exist with their friends or coworkers.

National Thrift Shop Day

Observed on August 17th, National Thrift Shop Day is a holiday on which people are encouraged to head to their local thrift store and enjoy some deals. Thrift stores, or second-hand stores as they are sometimes known, sell a variety of used household goods, clothing, and other types of merchandise for rock-bottom prices.

Many of these stores operate as non-profits. So, visiting one of them can be a good way to raise money for some organizations. These thrift stores are also looking for donations. So, bringing them some of your stuff can be a great way to help a charitable organization. You will also be reducing your own personal clutter.
