Florida International University Becomes Fastest Rising School In National Rankings
On Monday, Florida International University (FIU) landed in 72nd place in U.S. News & World Report’s the ranking of public colleges and universities. FIU’s position in the national rankings shows a spike of 62 spots since 2012. This means that Florida International University is the fastest-rising public university in the country.
The unbelievable spike correlates with a new focus on research and collaboration that was recently enacted. FIU has been a pioneer in forming collaborative partnerships with South Florida industry leaders such as Cleveland Clinic Florida and Florida Power & Light, among others.
Florida International University Credits Industry Leader Collaborations
FIU’s partnership with Cleveland Clinic Florida prompted former state Senator Anitere Flores and current state Representative Bryan Avila, chair of the House Health Care Appropriations Subcommittee, advocating for the school to receive even more money, about $2 million.
FIU is finding even more success in a smorgasbord of separate national rankings. FIU’s degree Choices have ranked FIU in the 23rd spot among universities nationally for the return on a graduates’ investment. Ivy League institutions such as Princeton, Stanford, and MIT were ranked alongside FIU.
Furthermore, Washington Monthly College Rankings ranked FIU 32nd nationally and first in Florida for its contribution to production nationally. In the report, FIU placed higher in the social mobility metric than any other state university in Florida.
Recently, world rankings that analyzes the rate at which higher education institutions develop and create patented technology, ranked FIU in 42nd place. Florida International University 62 patents last year.
FIU Is Your Place For The Best Value
FIU is among the Top 50 best-value public universities in the country. Also, they are ranked in the top 15 most innovative public universities. In 2022, FIU was recognized for excellence in undergraduate teaching, which led to several university programs which achieved high ranks alongside some of the nation’s best universities.
The schools International Business program remained in second place nationally. Also, their computer science and undergraduate engineering moved up four and nine spots.
In the years following breakthrough research and academic successes, FIU’s enrollment has increased to more than 56,000 students. This makes FIU one of the largest schools in the nation. In South Florida, students are saluting the university’s efforts and initiatives that promote student success.
