Ferrari Races Into Legoland Florida With Exciting Build And Race Attraction

Just as spring break excitement reaches its peak, Legoland Florida unveils an exhilarating attraction where enthusiasts can construct, customize, and race their very own Lego Ferrari cars.

Welcome to Lego Ferrari Build & Race, an interactive marvel conveniently located adjacent to The Great Lego Race roller coaster. Dressed in vibrant shades of red, black, and white, this establishment boasts a massive Lego race car at its entrance, signaling the gateway to a realm of automotive creativity. Inside, visitors are greeted by a life-sized, fire-engine-red Ferrari 296 GTS crafted entirely from Lego bricks.

The Ferrari 296 GTS Is The Star Of Build And Race At Legoland

Ryan Wood, the park’s master model builder and model shop manager, shares, “Within this garage, visitors will immerse themselves in the rich history of Ferrari, showcased through videos highlighting the company’s evolution and iconic car models.” The exhibition extends beyond mere observation, with tangible replicas including a race helmet, tools, and a steering wheel for guests to engage with.

The star of the show is undoubtedly the Ferrari 296 GTS, meticulously assembled from over 424,000 Lego pieces. Wood reveals, “It took more than 1,850 hours to design, build, and animate this model to ensure guests can not only admire it but also sit inside and experience its grandeur firsthand.”

Despite its stationary status, this Lego rendition captivates with its authenticity, featuring original Ferrari components such as the steering wheel and tires. From brake pads to rear engine parts, every detail is faithfully recreated with Lego bricks, embodying the essence of the iconic sports car.

Legoland Florida’s Ferrari Masterpiece

Legoland Florida’s Ferrari masterpiece marks the fourth installment in a global series, joining similar attractions in Denmark, England, and California. While the Ferrari steals the spotlight, the Build & Race experience extends beyond admiration to hands-on creativity. Visitors can unleash their inner engineer at building stations, customizing their racers with red and black bricks before putting their creations to the test on digital race tracks reminiscent of Ferrari’s legendary Pista di Fiorano testing grounds in Italy.

Following the adrenaline-fueled race, participants can proudly display their Lego Ferrari creations and receive a commemorative Build & Race button as a token of their achievement.

As Legoland Florida kicks off its spring break festivities, Rex Jackson, Managing Director of Legoland Resorts, North America, expressed excitement during the grand opening ceremony on March 8th, declaring, “What better way to celebrate than with the launch of a thrilling new attraction?”

Lego Ferrari Build & Race is now open to all park visitors, with admission included in park tickets. For those seeking to embark on this adventure, tickets and vacation packages are available at Gear up for an unforgettable journey where imagination meets innovation, and let the race begin!
