Explore Creativity: Orlando Game Jam Showcasing Local Talent At The Gaming Expo
The Orange County Library System’s Melrose Center invites local gaming enthusiasts to display their creativity and skills at the Orlando Gaming Expo and Game Jam. This distinctive event encourages spontaneous teams of aspiring game designers to partake in a 48-hour Game Jam, unfolding from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Feb 23-24.
Participants have the opportunity to engage in this game development challenge, utilizing the extensive resources provided by the downtown library’s Melrose Center. Commencing the event is an information session scheduled for Feb 22 at 1 p.m., during which attendees will be introduced to the theme of the year (currently undisclosed). In this session, participants will spontaneously form teams and devise their game creation plan.
The Orlando Game Jam Cultivates A Collaborative Atmosphere
The Game Jam cultivates a collaborative atmosphere, with team members potentially meeting for the first time on the event day. All games crafted during this intensive 48-hour period will be presented at the Orlando Gaming Expo on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to play the games, offer feedback, and cast their votes. The triumphant team will be declared at the expo’s conclusion.
The Orlando Gaming Expo ensures visibility for local game designers, featuring standout exhibitors such as 302 Interactive, Indienomicon Foundation, OMG Labs, Surprise Studios, and Employers for Change. Additionally, the expo serves as a platform for local designers and companies to discuss potential opportunities within the gaming industry.
