Aloe also contains sugars which help retain moisture in the skin. That’s a double whammy for moisturization right off the bat.

Aloe And It’s Health Properties

Naturally an antiseptic, it prevents the growth of microorganisms. This, in turn, helps stop the spread of infections. Therefore, you may have heard that aloe is good for bug bites. Aloe not only reduces the pain and itching from bug bites but also helps them heal faster.

As we discussed earlier, the water from aloe vera can be a great moisturizer, but that’s not all it can do. When we take that moisture and introduce it to a cut or scrape, for example, the aloe will help our injury heal faster too! See, aloe also contains a compound known as glucomannan, and it’s this compound that’s believed to help lacerations by improving collagen production. This healing is amplified by the presence of antioxidants, vitamin c, and vitamin e. You can even use aloe for acne.  Salicylic acid is naturally found in the plant and has shown to be effective against the fight of blackheads and whiteheads. That’s good news for all the teenagers out there.

Well, that’s all great, but maybe you’ve heard that before. So, what about how aloe can affect your mood? In a study done on mice it was stated that “it can be proposed that A. vera enhances learning and memory, and also alleviates depression in mice.” Pretty cool huh?

Although we lack evidence on the theory that aloe vera can enhance your mood, the reviews from users speak for themselves. Many people you have consumed aloe for this reason, can attest to its significant mood boosting properties. Because allow is rich in a wide variety of vitamins and nutrients, it can help strengthen your immune system. When you feel better physically, it can lead to you feeling better emotionally. That’s the proposed theory anyway.

Other Benefits Found For Stress

In another study, aloe was found to have significant impact on stress in people with prediabetes. In the study “pure extract powder of Aloe vera” was used on patients with depression who were thought to be prediabetic. “A double blind randomized controlled trial study was conducted on 72 prediabetic patients. After sampling the patients were allocated to three groups (Aloe vera 300 Mg (AL300), Aloe vera 500 Mg (AL500) and Placebo (PL).” After eight weeks, the group that was given the 500mg of aloe vera saw significant decreases in depression.
