74 Million Tourists Visited Orlando Last Year, Almost Reaching Pre-Pandemic Levels

Recently the WHO announced that COVID-19 is no longer a global concern. Well before this announcement, Orlando Florida saw tourism return to almost normal levels since the COVID-19 epidemic. 74 million tourists visited Orlando last year which is almost the same as pre-pandemic levels. It’s safe to say that after a few long years of remaining indoors and practicing social distancing among business shut downs, the country is finally returning to normal.

However, it is unclear whether this trend will remain stable, increase, or possibly decrease in the near future. There seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 epidemic while some speculate its resurgence. Hopefully, those troublesome times are behind us and we can move onward toward a brighter future in Central Florida.

74 Million Tourists Visited Orlando Last Year

More than 74 million tourists visited the Orlando, Florida, area last year, a standard just short of pre-pandemic levels, tourism officials claimed The number of tourists was 25% higher than it was in 2021, when Orlando was still recovering from the setbacks to tourism caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, which limited international travel and caused convention terminations. Orlando’s theme parks closed for numerous months in 2020 in an effort to stop the spread of the Corona Virus.

“This past year proved to be a key recovery timeframe for Orlando’s tourism industry, with a lot of pent-up demand from our top US and international markets,” said Casandra Matej, president and CEO for Visit Orlando, the area’s tourism promotion organization.

Orlando Had 69 Million Domestic Visitors

The Central Florida area had more than 69 million national visitors, with most of them visiting for vacation purposes, a sector that has fully recovered, said tourism officials. Business visitors still staggered behind pre-pandemic levels.

There were 4.9 million global tourists, making up only about 75% of pre-pandemic levels, according to local sources. The two biggest sources of international visitors were Canada and the United Kingdom.
