The Hammered Lamb Organizes Fundraiser To Avoid Closure
The Hammered Lamb, a well-loved establishment in Ivanhoe Village, is hosting a “Save the Lamb” fundraiser tomorrow to prevent closing its doors for good. Owner Jason Lambert took to social media to announce the event, urging the community to come out and show their support for the restaurant, which has been a neighborhood favorite for over a decade.
The Hammered Lamb’s Struggles
The Hammered Lamb, like many local businesses, has been dealing with tough times, particularly due to construction in Ivanhoe Village that has hurt foot traffic in the area. As a result, the restaurant recently adjusted its hours, closing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to manage slow business days. Lambert explained that the future of The Hammered Lamb is uncertain, and without continued community support, permanent closure is a real threat.
Since opening in 2013, The Hammered Lamb has become a staple of Ivanhoe Village, known for its brunch offerings, drink specials, and lively events like drag shows. However, the past year has been especially difficult for the restaurant, and Lambert stressed that they need the community’s help to keep going.
Supporting The Hammered Lamb
To raise funds and keep The Hammered Lamb afloat, an all-day fundraiser will be held from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on September 14. The day will include brunch from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., followed by live music, games, and drink specials into the evening. For those who can’t attend in person, an online fundraiser has been set up with a target of $150,000 to help secure the restaurant’s future.
Lambert also encouraged customers to share their favorite memories of The Hammered Lamb as part of the effort to rally support.
Earlier this year, The Hammered Lamb experienced a setback when an incorrect health inspection report was mistakenly linked to the restaurant. Though the issue was addressed, it had an impact on business.
With strong ties to the community, The Hammered Lamb is counting on the success of the fundraiser to continue serving Ivanhoe Village.
