Kappy’s Subs is staying open! Despite the recent wave of local restaurant closures, Maitland’s cherished sandwich shop, Kappy’s Subs, has announced that it will remain in business after finalizing a new lease agreement.
Serving the community since 1967, Kappy’s Subs faced a potential shutdown last week when Bolen Properties, the landlord, initially refused to commit to a new lease. The shop was set to close its doors for good on Saturday, September 14th, leaving many in the community disheartened.
However, the tides turned when devoted customers rallied to support Kappy’s Subs. The outpouring of love and long lines at the shop caught the landlord’s attention, leading to a successful negotiation.

Kappy’s Subs and the property owner reached a lease agreement, allowing the sandwich shop to reopen at its familiar location on Monday, September 23rd. The community was overjoyed by the news, which was quickly shared by Kappy’s on social media.
“Thank you all for your support. We truly could not have saved Kappy’s without the love of our community. We will reopen Monday, September 23rd,” Kappy’s Subs posted.
