Hollerbach’s German Restaurant Joins Central Florida Dementia-Friendly Dining
Hollerbach’s German Restaurant is excited to join Central Florida Dementia-Friendly Dining, becoming the fifth restaurant in the area to offer this special service. Starting this week, Hollerbach’s will host dementia patients and their caregivers every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m., providing a supportive and welcoming environment.
Hollerbach’s German Restaurant Joins The Dementia-Friendly Dining Initiative
Central Florida Dementia-Friendly Dining (DFD) was founded by Dennis Dulniak after his wife Nancy’s early-onset Alzheimer’s diagnosis in 2015. His experience as a caregiver inspired him to create DFD, aiming to foster positivity and awareness within the dementia community. After Nancy’s passing in 2021, Dulniak continued his mission to support and uplift those affected by dementia.
DFD’s goal is to create a peaceful, distraction-free dining experience for individuals with dementia. Hollerbach’s German Restaurant is now part of this initiative, enhancing the local dining scene with its inclusive atmosphere.
The initiative began with The Meatball Stoppe, which provided dedicated seating every Tuesday. Although The Meatball Stoppe has closed, the number of participating restaurants continues to grow, with Hollerbach’s German Restaurant now joining the ranks.
