The Best Brunch Spots in Winter Park, Florida

The Best Brunch Spots in Winter Park, Florida

Ahh, brunch. Is there anything better than brunch? The “South” brunch usually consists of eggs, bacon, and some form of grits. All of which are excellent choices. However, in Winter Park and the surrounding areas, brunch has been taken up a notch and is usually pushed more elegantly. Strap in and put your mimosa goggles on because this list of the best brunch spots in Winter Park just happens to be written by a Winter Park native who LOVES brunch.

The Briar patches

Personally, the Briarpatch is my go-to spot for brunch. Whether it’s a Saturday, Sunday, or Wednesday the Briarpatch is an excellent choice for anyone looking for top-notch brunch. As mentioned before, the Briarpatch is one establishment that offers many traditional breakfast dishes and has done a splendid job of incorporating some class into most of their plates. As one of the most iconic restaurants in Winter Park, the Briarpatch has opened its doors to anyone and everyone since 1980.

In addition to serving modern American culinary delights, the Briarpatch also offers an upper echelon spin on eggs benedict by incorporating crab cakes into the dish. Also, the Briarpatch doesn’t seem to be afraid to push the envelope of experimentation, which is evident from their offer of pork belly waffles. The Briarpatch doesn’t only offer traditional spins on classic brunch items but also pumps up the volume with their more eclectic menu options such as their breakfast carnitas and vegan almond butter tartine. Don’t forget to wash it all down with an order of mimosas, a pumpkin spiced latte, or any of their other brunch cocktails.

Santiago’s Bodega

Santiago’s Bodega is a CLOSE second in my brunch realm. Offering their brunch on the weekends, Santiago’s Bodega boasts an all-you-can-eat brunch, tapas-style, for a flat rate. They also offer complimentary mimosas! When I say “all you can eat” I really mean all you can eat. After my last visit, I was basically rolled out due to stuffing crab legs, prime rib, and champagne down my gullet, until I could barely move.

Santiago’s Bodega offers menu options such as their crab legs or prime rib and offers made-to-order omelets for all-you egg heads out there and many other favorites. Santiago’s Bodega offers their brunch in two-hour windows. Two hours may not seem like much time, but you’ll be surprised how slow the time goes by in bodega life. If you’re a lover of brunch and all-you-can-drink mimosas, then Santiago’s Bodega may be the perfect choice for your next early-day binge.

Sixty Vines

Sixty Vines is new to me. I’ve eaten brunch all over town but was introduced to Sixty Vines recently when they were the only restaurant willing to accommodate a reservation of 10+ for brunch. First off, service, service, service! Our waiter was fantastic and offered unparalleled service to our party, single-handedly. The comfort and sophistication are inspired by wine country in California.

They exhibit a great use of space with an open kitchen design and mimosa bar. The seasonal cuisine offered by Sixty Vines shows that they can do California justice on the other side of the country. This is evident from their egg white and goat cheese frittata (excellent choice) and their cabernet brunch burger, among other things. Their smoked bacon isn’t too shabby either. All in all, I can say that for sure that I will be back to Sixty Vines very soon.

Peach Valley Café

Peach Valley Café is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in general and their brunch is to die for. Whether you lean more towards sweet or savory, Peach Valley Café offers it all. They also do a great job of handling anyone on a liquid diet via their mimosa options. Bacon, bacon, and more bacon, this is, probably, the best bacon I’ve had in town. The hardwood smoked, thick-cut, bacon has literally invaded my dreams on more than one occasion.

Peach Valley Café tends to lean towards a more traditional brunch, offering multiple egg dishes, traditional breakfast meats, and dishes like their “Kick Hash Breakfast” which combines a potato hash and roast beef. Fresh fruit, salads, and wraps make Peach Valley Café a well-rounded eatery that is a force to be reckoned with in the breakfast world. Don’t fret sugar hounds, Peach Valley Café has you covered as well with options such as chocolate chip pancakes, very berry stuffed French toast, and their famous, house-made, peach cobbler.

Brick & Spoon

Stone’s throw away from Park Avenue you can find Brick and Spoon. Sitting in the heart of Maitland is a real southern gem that I had the pleasure of hearing about from a friend. Brick and Spoon offers a Cajun-style brunch experience with cocktails and built-to-order bloody Mary’s.

The killer creole omelet, shrimp and grits, Caribbean scrambler, and the beignets show you exactly which direction they’re going in and it sounds awesome! I have not been able to experience their brunch for myself, although I have added them to my immediate list, 421 Google reviews can’t be wrong with providing Brick and Spoon 4.5 out of 5 stars. Some simple online research will show you everything that you need to know about Brick and Spoon. Make sure you check out the massive amounts of positive reviews they’ve amassed and give them a fair shot to impress you.

There is no shortage of fantastic brunch venues around the Winter Park area but these top five are competing at a high level. Except for one, I have personally had brunch, on multiple occasions, at each one of these restaurants. I would be shocked to find that anyone has a less than positive experience during their visit to any one of them. To each their own, but I think many Winter Park residents and visitors would agree. Don’t just take my word for it, make sure you visit these brunch locations and decide for yourself.
