Winter Park Invites Schools to Apply for Green Schools Grant


The City of Winter Park’s Natural Resources and Sustainability Department, along with Keep Winter Park Beautiful, is encouraging Pre-K through Grade 12 schools to submit applications for the Green Schools Grant. Schools serving Winter Park have until Friday, February 28, to apply for funding aimed at advancing sustainability initiatives and campus beautification.

Green Schools Grant Overview


The Green Schools Grant is designed to help schools achieve sustainability goals while involving students in meaningful environmental projects. Funding supports efforts across various categories, including:

Buildings, Energy & Water: Promoting energy efficiency and water conservation.

Community Engagement & Green Economy: Encouraging collaboration and education on sustainability topics.

Local Food & Agriculture: Supporting gardens and local food programs.

Mobility & Urban Form: Improving transportation options and eco-friendly designs.

Natural Systems & Resources: Enhancing natural habitats and ecosystems.

Waste Diversion & Recycling: Expanding recycling and composting programs.

Applications will be reviewed by the Keep Winter Park Beautiful & Sustainable Advisory Board, which will select recipients based on the impact and innovation of their proposed projects.
