Orlando Ballet School Fall registration is now open.
Orlando Ballet School classes begin with the Enrollment Division and progress to the Pre-Professional Division. Each level follows a structured syllabus that recognizes cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Students aged three to six are placed by age while students aged seven and up are auditioned and placed by knowledge, ability, and potential.
About The Academy And Company
The Central Florida Ballet’s Academy and Company were founded in 2000 by world-renowned dancer and director, Vasile Petrutiu, and “Orlando’s ballerina” Heather Fryxell-Sanders.
Celebrating 20 years of excellence, The Central Florida Ballet’s Academy prides itself on offering the finest classical ballet training in Central Florida. Our curriculum has been designed to bring out the best in every student creating a well-rounded dancer. In addition to ballet classes, dancers will also study jazz, modern, tap, contemporary, and body conditioning.
Our students have gone on to professional careers with prestigious companies including San Francisco Ballet, Pittsburgh Ballet Theater, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Joffrey Ballet, Colorado Ballet, State Street Ballet, Ballet MET, Louisville Ballet, and First State Ballet Theatre. The Academy’s students annually receive scholarships and acceptance to coveted dance schools including American Ballet Theatre and Canada’s National Ballet School, totaling more than 30 schools and companies to date.
Performance Opportunities
The Central Florida Ballet’s Company offers several performance opportunities throughout the year including our annual Nutcracker (audition required) performed in the state-of-the-art Linda Chapin Theater at the Orange County Convention Center and each school year concludes with an exciting Recital Showcase. Our Studio Company performs year-round at various events and performances throughout Central Florida. Advanced students have an additional option to audition for the World Ballet Competition that is held every year in June.
Orlando Ballet School is regarded as one of the finest training academies in the world and is the official school of the Orlando Ballet. The school has been named “Outstanding School” at the New York finals of the Youth America Grand Prix three times. Located in Central Florida, Orlando Ballet School adheres to the American Ballet Theatre® National Training curriculum and our American Ballet Theatre® certified teachers provide disciplined training for dancers of all ages.

Orlando Ballet School classes
Orlando Ballet School classes begin with the Enrollment Division and progress to the Pre-Professional Division. Each level follows a structured syllabus that recognizes cognitive, emotional, and physical development. Students aged three to six are placed by age while students aged seven and up are auditioned and placed by knowledge, ability, and potential. All students receive bi-annual progress reports and are advanced only when the teaching team believes more advanced work will be beneficial to the student.
The Jungle Book
October 7-10, 2021 | Dr. Phillips Center
A colorful retelling of Rudyard Kipling’s stories with whimsical costumes, vibrant sets, and music that conjures the magic of young Mowgli’s life in the jungle. Audiences of all ages will delight in the spirited adventures of Mowgli as he befriends Baloo the Bear and encounters the larger-than-life Shere Khan and Kaa. This storybook ballet with choreography by Toni Pimble is based on the short stories, written by Rudyard Kipling and the many famed The Jungle Book movies.
The Nutcracker
December 3-5, & 16-19, 2021 | Dr. Phillips Center
Orlando Ballet’s enchanting annual favorite, The Nutcracker is a not-to-be-missed holiday tradition. The beloved story of a godfather’s Christmas Eve gift of a toy nutcracker that comes to life and transports Clara to a world of wonder. Patrons are carried along on a magical journey to a world of fantasy and fun complete with the Mouse King, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Mother Ginger.

Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby will transport you back to the Roaring Twenties through lavish and cinematic sets, choreography by Jorden Morris, with an original score by Carl Davis. Mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby has a fondness for extravagant parties and beautiful women. As the sparkling façade of his world begins to slip, the solitude, fascination, and heartbreak that lies beneath is exposed. Experience the decadence of history’s most carefree decade as F.
