African American Playwright Brings Captivating Show to the Ritz Theater in Sanford
The Ritz Theater in historic downtown Sanford is set to host an exciting and thought-provoking theatrical experience. “One Woman Man,” a hit play co-written by Marlo Roberson and Jamal Blair, promises to captivate audiences with its powerful storytelling and diverse cast. In this compelling performance, Alonzo Stephon (portrayed by the talented actor Obed Burgess) embodies the struggle of a hard-working man striving to ascend the corporate ladder. His unwaveringly supportive wife, Keisha (played by Ro Mckenzie), stands by his side through thick and thin. But when temptation knocks, Alonzo faces a critical choice: remain faithful to his wife or risk everything.
Co-writer Marlo Roberson, a multifaceted artist known for his work as a writer, director, and producer, emphasizes the show’s underlying message: “Hard work, dedication, and unity yield remarkable results.” Roberson’s journey from adversity to positive change in his community serves as an inspiring testament to the power of resilience and creativity.
