Metropolitan Opera soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer leads an incredible quartet of soloists in DEFIANT REQUIEM
Opera Orlando is thrilled to announce an incredible quartet of soloists headlined by Metropolitan Opera soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer for the Florida premiere of Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín. She will be joined by mezzo-soprano Ann McMahon Quintero (last seen as Lizbeth in the Company’s 2022 production), tenor Harold Meers (making his Opera Orlando debut), and bass Zaikuan Song (last seen as Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor).

These incredible soloists will be led by conductor and The Defiant Requiem Foundation founder, Murry Sidlin, who narrates the work, retelling this unbelievable true story alongside Alina Alcántara as the Lecturer and Alex Mansoori as Rafael Schächter, the Czech conductor who taught and conducted Verdi’s Requiem in the Theresienstadt concentration camp during World War II, and inspired this piece.
