Keep Orlando Beautiful: Join The City-Wide Lake Cleanup
Keep Orlando Beautiful is seeking dedicated volunteers and local environmental groups to participate in an upcoming city-wide lake cleanup, taking place from September 7 to September 28.
This event is more than just a cleanup; it’s a chance to educate our community about the dangers of microplastics in our lakes, the importance of reducing waste, and how our daily actions affect not only our streets but also our lakes and oceans. To help you continue making a difference beyond this event, Keep Orlando Beautiful will provide all volunteers with free reusable items like metal straws, bags, and bottles.
Last year, with the help of volunteers, over 1,000 pounds of litter were removed from Orlando’s lakes. This year, Keep Orlando Beautiful aims to surpass that achievement, and they need your help to do it.
How You Can Help Keep Orlando Beautiful
This year’s lake cleanup will focus on several important lakes in our area, including:
- Lake Fran
- Clear Lake
- Lake Dot
- Park Lake
- Lake Lorna Doone
- Loch Haven Chain of Lakes
