Gaylord Palms’ Pirate and Princess Weekends
From Jan. 8 through March 7, Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee, Fla. will once again host Pirate and Princess Weekends, with family-friendly activities will be happening throughout the resort and at Cypress Springs Waterpark.

Running on weekends till March 7, the event will offer a wide variety of family-friendly activities both inside the resort’s atriums and outside at Cypress Springs Water Park. Resort officials said guests will experience the story of the pirates that have now made Gaylord Palms’ Everglades Swamp their outpost as they search for the princess’ priceless treasure. “Guests will get to embark on their own adventure as they choose to take the pirate oath or become an honorary princess or prince for the day,” officials said in a news release.
New this year, the resort is offering an exciting and interactive experience, the Pirate Outpost Invasion. Guests will hear tales of adventure, pirate-inspired music and enjoy a sip of the captain’s brew inside the new Pirate Speakeasy. Outside, guests can join Jolly Roger and his pirate crew for music, games, and swashbuckling fun during the Pirate Pool Party at Cypress Springs Water Park.

At the Princess Academy, The Princess and Swordmistress will tell stories of fantasy. They even give the opportunity for guests to become an honorary prince or princess for the day. The Princess’s Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt will have guests searching for her treasure before the pirates can get their hooks on it!
The Princess Academy
The Princess’s shiny stash treasure hunt: the princess has hidden her kingdom’s precious treasures throughout the resort’s 4.5 acres of indoor gardens for guests to find. Pirate & Princess light display: the resort’s St. Augustine Atrium will dazzle with colorful lights and imagery creating the perfect close to a day of an exciting adventure.
Wildlife Rescue
Wildlife Rescue Experience: guests will track down endangered species and help ensure that they are monitored for their protection. The virtual adventure highlights indigenous animals from Florida and, with the magic of augmented reality. Brings them to life before the participants’ eyes.
The resort is offering a special for the weekends as well. For $189, overnight accommodations, a Princess Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt booklet, and tickets to the Pirate Outpost Invasion show will be included in the bundle. Resort fees and parking are excluded from the price.
The Marriott’s “Commitment to Clean” program will keep guests safe in a sanitized environment and social distancing will be implemented throughout the resort.
