JazzPro Series Presents: CuBop – Celebrating the Latin infused side of the Blue Note catalog, CuBop’s origin stems from the fusion of the Afro-Cuban and BeBop sounds of stylistic pioneers Dizzy Gillespie, Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers, and Horace Silver.
Since the group’s inception, the CuBop catalog has expanded to cover a wide array of styles in the jazz idiom from Latin-Jazz to Hard Bop and to more progressive avant-garde styles all rooted within the classic quintet and sextet format.
Featuring Marco Bojorquez on bass, Bob Thornton on piano, Greg Parnell on drums, Joe Breidenstine on trumpet, Jeremy Fratti on sax, and Frank Wosar on trombone.
