Are you ready to dance? Get ready for emergence‘s first dance festival of 2021. The Emergence Dance Festival is a virtual event is like none other you have experienced. This loved theme festival is designed to reach the largest audience to date. This festival will feature pieces showing the passion of true love, the heartache of falling out of love, and a little bit of strut. The Emergence Dance Festival will be a virtual performance in collaboration with TEACHTIX showcasing various choreographers across the world.

In partnership with TeachTix, these exclusive pieces will be available to stream up until two weeks after the premiere. Performances include choreographers and companies from around the United States including Cindy Heen with Emergence Dance Company, Herman Ramos with Florida School of the Arts, Alexandra “Alex” Chacon, Lindsiann Taylor with American Arts & Athletics, Cherie Carson with Upswing Aerial Dance Company, and the Crawford Jazz Project. This festival of love centers around the movement in falling into the true passion of love, the heartache of falling out of love, and a little bit of strut.

About CINDY HEEN: Director Of Emergence

 

Cindy Heen currently is adjunct faculty of dance at the University of Central Florida, teaching for Orlando Ballets enrichment program, and teaching/choreographing competitively and recreationally throughout Florida and California with various schools/studios. Ms. Heen graduated from Mills College in Oakland, CA with her MFA in Dance and Choreography in 2018.

Some of her recent performances in California have been with Santa Clara Ballet for their Nutcracker, Left Coast Chamber Ensemble A Soldier’s Tale, and Berkeley Ballet Theatre’s Collage. She is the artistic director of her own professional dance company, Emergence Dance, presenting choreography at various festivals across the US. She also choreographs for the UCF dance concert, as well as the upcoming production of Interstellar Cinderella with the Shakespeare Theatre. Dancing professionally, choreographing, teaching, and being an advocate for the arts is what Cindy has dedicated her life to.

A Few Featured Performers include

 

Kayla Reyburn:

started dancing in Lake Worth, Florida at the age of 3. She grew up training in ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, modern, acrobatics, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop before moving to Orlando in 2015. In 2019, Kayla earned her degree in Integrated Business and a minor in Dance at the University of Central Florida. She has danced in UCF’s Annual Dance Concerts, UCF Celebrates The Arts, The Purpose Project video Ghosts That We Knew, and has competed with FLe8 at World of Dance Orlando.

Catherine Linder:

Catherine began dancing in Kissimmee, Florida at the age of 11. Throughout the years she trained in ballet, jazz, musical theater, contemporary, and hip hop. Beyond dancing, she has a strong passion for serving her community through arts education.

Samantha Wong:

Samantha Wong is a UCF senior, graduating in May. She has been dancing since she was 8 years old and trained in many different styles. Since coming to UCF she has had many different opportunities to dance here at UCF. She danced with Knights and Damsels Dance Company her first two years here, and then also was a company member on the Rukus Entertainment dance team.

Rebecca Englehart:

Rebecca has been dancing since age three and is classically trained in ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, acrobatics, lyrical, tap, and modern. In 2013, she began training in aerial arts as well as dance. She has performed in the Central Florida area in the annual UCF Dance Concerts and UCF Celebrates the Arts performances, as well as performed in shows with Modern Theatricals and Team Carnie Productions.

Ethan Lyttle:

In 2017, Ethan began taking dance classes at UCF, and in the spring of 2018, he auditioned for and made the dance minor program. Ethan teaches color guard in several high school programs around Orlando and now dances with Emergence Dance Company with Cindy Heen.
