Disney Unveils Major Expansions For Disney World
Disney is gearing up to bring even more magic to Orlando with a host of new attractions and themed lands set to debut at Disney World. As the competition intensifies, Disney is answering with exciting updates across all its parks, ensuring there’s something new for every visitor to enjoy.
At the recent D23 Expo, Disney’s annual fan convention, the company shared a series of thrilling announcements about the future of its parks. While there were big reveals for Disney resorts worldwide, the focus was squarely on Orlando, home to the largest Disney resort. The D23 panel offered a sneak peek at what’s in store for Disney World, including new lands, attractions, and immersive experiences.
Big Changes Ahead For Magic Kingdom
One of the most anticipated updates is the transformation of Magic Kingdom’s Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America area into a new Cars-themed land. This “reimagined area of Frontierland” will feature two exciting new attractions: a high-speed rally race through the mountains and a more family-friendly adventure. Fans of the current attractions still have time to enjoy them before the Cars land construction kicks off next year.
Another major highlight is the long-awaited Beyond Big Thunder Mountain project, now officially named Disney Villains. This new land will immerse guests in the world of Disney’s most notorious villains, with two major attractions, themed dining, and unique shopping opportunities.
Exciting New Experiences Coming To Disney World
Disney didn’t stop there. The D23 showcase also introduced a new nighttime parade, Disney Starlight, set to light up Magic Kingdom in summer 2025. This parade will carry on the legacy of the iconic Main Street Electrical Parade, enchanting guests with cutting-edge lighting effects and beloved Disney characters.
Additionally, Disney revealed more details about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean tavern, scheduled to open in 2025. This pirate-themed spot will offer a menu of grogs and grub, adding a swashbuckling new experience to Magic Kingdom.
With these incredible expansions, Disney World continues to deliver unforgettable experiences, ensuring every visit is filled with magic and wonder.
