Christmas On Park 2024: City Boosts Holiday Decorations Budget
At the June 12 Community Redevelopment Agency board meeting, Winter Park approved an extra $50,000 to enhance “Christmas on Park 2024: Bringing the Magic of the Holidays to Downtown Winter Park.” This follows an initial $50,000 granted at the May 22 City Commission meeting, bringing the total holiday fund to $100,000.
Winter Park Mayor Sheila DeCiccio stated, “The holidays are such a magical time of year for our residents and guests. When the city was approached by the Park Avenue District to enhance and improve holiday decorations along Park Avenue, we were very supportive of their plans. The PAD has already successfully raised thousands of dollars. Therefore, our matching funds seemed like the perfect holiday gift to our residents and merchants.”
Enhancements For Winter Park Christmas
The Park Avenue District aims to deliver an “elevated, multi-sensory holiday experience” this year. According to city documents, the enhancements will include seasonal music, festive scents, an extensive array of lights, and decorations featuring oranges and magnolia flowers to honor Florida’s heritage. These new elements aim to create a truly immersive experience for everyone who visits Winter Park Christmas.
These festive decorations will be prominently displayed along Park Avenue between Fairbanks and Webster Avenues, as well as Morse Boulevard and New England Avenue. The city’s investment in Winter Park Christmas aims to enhance the joy and wonder for both residents and visitors.
