Captivating Things To Do During The Summer In Central Florida | 2022
Summer in Central Florida never seems to really go away. While some simply aren’t interested in our hot and humid temperatures from May-ish to September-ish, we truly believe in taking advantage of this oasis we find ourselves in.
The average temperatures during the summer months will range from the high 80’s and, down to the mid 70’s on some of our cooler days. As most of us know, Florida is notorious for those summer afternoon showers.
So, be sure to grab your umbrella, put on a pair of shorts, and pack up your sense of adventure. In this article we’ll be going over some of the best ways to embrace the Florida heat and have a ton of fun while you’re doing it.
Summer In Central Florida: Winter Park
As we are native to Winter Park, it only makes sense for use to put Winter Park at the top of our list. Obviously, there are a ton of fantastic escapades that await throughout Central Florida, but you cannot skip over a trip to Winter Park. Before you head out to theme park row, make sure to take a stroll down Park Ave. Stop for ice cream at one of our multiple ice cream parlors, or do a bit of light shopping and grab lunch at one of our world class restaurants. Maybe a simple picnic under the shade of the trees in the park is more your speed.
Do not pass up the opportunity to take the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour. Soak up the sun and the relaxing beauty of Lake Osceola. This massively popular, hour-long, cruise takes you on a meandering tour through three of the seven lakes and two, man-made rivers of the Winter Park water chain. The Winter Parks homes, wildlife, and foliage truly earn the Scenic Boat Tour the title of “captivating”.
The Notorious Wheel At Icon Park
The Wheel at Icon Park is much more than a ferris wheel and a must visit during the summer in Central Florida. Step into one of the air-conditioned capsules and soar 400 feet into the air. This is your opportunity to see Orlando the way you’ve never seen it before. There are plenty of Icon Park passes and combos to choose from. You and your family will have non-stop fun for hours on end. Take in the shop, restaurants and more through this open air, 20-acre, park that highlights the wheel.
Enjoy The Summer In Central Florida At SeaWorld Orlando
Dive deep into the glory of the oceans by visiting SeaWorld Orlando this summer. The hub for all things marine. SeaWorld has fascinating man-made ecosystems for all your favorite oceanic critters. With top tier rides and roller coasters, breathtaking aquatic shows, and even the touch tank for kids, SeaWorld serves up some of the best aquatic entertainment in the world. Don’t forget to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting wet when you sit in the splash zone when you cool off during the orca encounter show. SeaWorld also has summer camps that you may be interested in. With days of ocean discovery and immersive education suitable for the little nemo in your life.
Volcano Bay
One of the best ways to beat the heat this summer in Central Florida is to visit one of our many water parks. Cool off with a trip to one of the newer Orlando water parks at Universal’s Volcano Bay. Lazy rivers, the wave pool, and water slides are all yours to enjoy at this South Pacific themed paradise. Conquer the waves like the ancient when you twist, turn, and slide down the massive walls of the Honu ika Moana. Or experience the thrilling plunges of the Krakatau Aqua Coaster. Looking for a more laidback theme? Post up in the idyllic Waturi Beach lagoon and swim, tan, and splash as you take in the quaint Wave Village.
