The Alfond Inn at Rollins, the award-winning boutique hotel in the heart of historic Winter Park, is pleased to announce the hiring of two new executives, Justin Williams and Michelle Gomez, as the organization has made headway over the past year in exciting and ambitious new projects.
Justin Williams has joined The Alfond Inn as General Manager. Williams brings extensive experience in luxury hospitality, having held leadership roles at renowned properties such as the Grand Bohemian Orlando, Westin Verasa Napa—home to the Michelin-starred La Toque, Twelve Hotel Atlantic Station, and the Marriott Pere Marquette.
Prior to joining The Alfond Inn, Williams served as Managing Director of Atlanta Evergreen Lakeside Resort, The Inn at Stone Mountain Park, and Stone Mountain Park Golf Club. His leadership is grounded in operational excellence and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Beyond his professional expertise, Williams actively serves on the boards of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission and Man Up Mentoring. He also volunteers at Evans High School in Orlando Florida, dedicating his time to mentoring students and helping shape the next generation of leaders.
“The Winter Park experience begins at The Alfond Inn, where guests encounter our world-class Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, refined dining, luxurious accommodations, signature events, and our new destination spa,” said Justin Williams, General Manager of The Alfond Inn. “It is an honor to highlight the artistic spirit and philanthropic mission that reflect the charm and ambiance of Winter Park. I look forward to sharing this unique experience with every guest.”
Michelle Gomez has joined The Alfond Inn as Executive Chef, bringing expertise from her tenure with Marriott International, Hilton Worldwide, and Waldorf Astoria. Prior to joining The Alfond Inn, Gomez held leadership roles in Hawaii, serving as Vice President of the American Culinary Federation, Culinary Advisory Board Member for the University of Hawaii, and Les Dames d’ Escoffier International Board Member and Delegate.
A Le Cordon Bleu graduate of culinary arts, Gomez returns to her hometown of Orlando, inspired by her travels while working in Spain, France, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico, Monaco, and the Caribbean to create innovative farm-to-table cuisine.
“As a Chef, I value diversity and cultural immersion. Sharing this passion is a privilege. I’m thrilled to join The Alfond Inn, where proceeds go to benefit Rollins College scholarships”, states Executive Chef Michelle Gomez.
The Alfond Inn recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023 after undergoing a major renovation that expanded the capacity of the accommodations to 183 rooms. The Alfond Inn also opened The Spa at The Alfond Inn, which is open both for hotel guests and day visitors and offers signature treatments, a sauna, a new fitness area, a swimming pool, private cabanas, and an extensive outdoor living room. In addition, The Alfond Inn opened The Cafe, serving house-made breakfast pastries, crepes, desserts, coffee from local roaster Artifex, and wine in the evening. It also has patisseries created by new house pastry chef, Jason Acevedo.
Owned by neighboring Rollins College, the private, coeducational liberal arts college in Winter Park, Florida, The Alfond Inn is a unique luxury property distinguished by its philanthropic mission, directing all net operating income to Rollins College scholarships. Home to The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, part of the Rollins Museum of Art, the Inn is the only hotel in the United States to function as a formal extension of an art museum, featuring rotating installations selected by the museum’s expert curators.
