Say ‘Aloha’ To New Nonstop Flights Available To Hawaii From Orlando

New Nonstop Flights Available To Hawaii From Orlando

Can you remember how free you felt the last time you took a vacation? Even as COVID-19 continues to plague the country, Hawaiian Airlines is giving Orlando something to smile about. Already gaining interest, Floridians are excited by the opportunity of the new nonstop flights available to Hawaii from Orlando. Park Ave Magazine wants to know… isn’t it time that you escaped to your very own island getaway?

In order to seemingly answer the call of many Floridians, one airline rises to the challenge. Hawaiian is a Honolulu-based carrier that aims to make the island more available and travel friendly. They do this by cutting out the transfer flights for travelers. Hawaiian recently announced the addition of nonstop flights from Orlando set to take course down the runway in March.

“We are thrilled to announce that Central Florida residents can look forward to nonstop service to Hawaii, and that Orlando International Airport is officially Florida’s connection to the Aloha State,” offered Phil Brown, CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “This new service represents a great investment that will strengthen economic, leisure and cultural bonds between two of the country’s top tourism locations.”

When Do Flights From Orlando to Hawaii Begin?

As provided by the Orlando International Airport, routes are set to begin on March 11. Their schedule highlights two weekly flights to Honolulu made possible by a 278-seat Airbus A330 aircraft. To date, it should be noted that it is Hawaiian’s third-longest route. The only ones longer than the flight course are those to Boston and New York.

In efforts to continue growth and convenience to all, Hawaiian states they plan to add additional flights per week. Those set to route to Honolulu are confirmed departing from Ontario and California, (approximately 40 minutes east of Los Angeles) beginning March 16. The carrier also has set daily nonstop flights from Long Beach, California, and Kahului, Maui with openings set for March 9th.

Travel and COVID-19

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many travelers have only been permitted to visit the island for two months. In fact, Hawaii imposed a strict quarantine rule for out-of-state visitors during the onset of the virus last spring and kept the rule in place until mid-October. In that change, the Aloha State initiated a program allowing visitors to evade the isolation period with one specific submission. That only thing being a negative swab test result.

Though tremendously effective, this system hasn’t been entirely faultless. In actuality, Families have been arrested after arriving home due to knowingly boarding flights from other destinations back to Kauai despite testing positive and being ordered to isolate. As it seems, the protocol is in place for good reason and serves the right of duty to the people of the Island. Additionally, with COVID-19 infection rates at their highest levels, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has advised U.S. residents not to travel if experiencing any signs or symptoms without proper treatment.

CDC Recommendations For Travel

As to be expected for those deciding to travel, the CDC recommends travelers get tested for COVID-19 both before and after their trips. In terms of the specifics, it should be known that the CDC offers a timeframe to best protect everyone. They recommend one to take a test one to three days before travel and another about three to five days after travel. Reduction of activities for seven days after travel is also advised. Those who opt out of testing should reduce activities for 10 days after travel, the agency states.

Whether you feel that you’re ready to plan your Aloha State getaway next weekend or next year, it’s possible. Thankfully, the new nonstop flights available to Hawaii from Orlando aren’t going anywhere… though we think that you should be!
