SUMMARY:Yuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff
DESCRIPTION:Yuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff\nYuja Wang Plays Rachmaninoff at Dr. Phillips Center. Hang on tight as piano superstar Yuja Wang (“one of the most talented\, enthralling\, and even mesmerizing performers on the world scene” ~ HuffPost) takes you on a wild ride with Rachmaninoff’s First Piano Concerto! The composer—a virtuoso himself—packed in plenty of fireworks to challenge even the most athletic of pianists. Yuja also solos in another of Rachmaninoff’s piano concertos —the rare Fourth Piano Concerto\, where orchestra and piano meet in Rachmaninoff’s signature sound\, lush chords (a nod to jazz)\, and hinting at the composer he is to become with the early shadows of Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and his future cinematic style. Plus\, Debussy’s iconic (and notorious) masterpiece\, from sinuous flute introduction to final languorous bars…erotic reveries in all their voluptuous\, ephemeral beauty. \nArtists\nEric Jacobsen\, conductor\nYuja Wang\, piano \nProgram\nDebussy – Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun\nRachmaninoff – Piano Concerto No. 4\nRachmaninoff – Piano Concerto No. 1 \nPurchase Tickets \nOrlando Philharmonic Orchestra\nCelebrating its 30th Season\, the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra is led by Music Director Eric Jacobsen and is comprised of creative musicians and artists from around the world. This was what the wilderness sanctuary early tribes found when they escaped inland from the Spanish. \nLater\, when Creeks and others from the tribes of the Southeast United States fled into Spanish Florida and settled new villages among escaped African slaves\, they became the Seminoles. The word “Seminole” is adopted from Spanish and Creek terms for people who live away from others. The Senator\, at more than 3000 years old\, is easily Central Florida’s oldest tourist attraction and can still be seen today at Big Tree Park in Seminole County’s Spring Hammock Preserve near Longwood.

The area was once called Fumecheliga (Musk Mellon Place) by the Seminole Indians. This was before it was established as Fort Maitland in 1838 by the U.S. Army. The fort was named after Captain William Seton Maitland\, a hero of the Seminole Wars. Ironically\, he was never in this area\, having died in a battle near Tampa.

SUMMARY:A Wellness Based Class for the Novice Improviser @ SAK Comedy Lab
DESCRIPTION:Improv For Anxiety: A Wellness-Based Class for the Novice Improviser\nPrice: $250.00 | Instructor: Chris Dinger \nImprov For Anxiety is a wellness-based class for the Novice Improviser from SAK Comedy Lab. It’s purpose is to help people who suffer from anxiety learn to live richer\, fuller and more meaningful lives. Whether it’s social anxiety\, stage fright\, public speaking anxiety\, or general anxiety\, improvisation creates an ideal experiential learning environment to practice dealing with your anxiety in a totally different way. \nThrough basic improv exercises\, participants will learn to use the tools of acceptance\, non-judgement\, and present moment awareness to address the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way of living fully.
