SUMMARY:Yoga On the Farms with Fleet Farming
DESCRIPTION:Yoga On the Farms with Fleet Farming\nIntroducing Yoga On the Farms with Fleet Farming! On the last Saturday of each month\, we’ll have a different instructor lead a yoga class on our farms. \nMake sure to bring a mat\, towel\, water bottle\, sunglasses\, and hat…it might get toasty. $10 entry fee. All proceeds benefit Fleet Farming’s nonprofit urban agriculture educational programming and environmental restortation projects. \nInterested in leading a class? Email katie.debari@ideasforus.org. \nFleet Farming\nFleet Farming is a bike-powered urban farming program + a small-scale distributed agriculture system! Fleet Farming is a non-profit urban agriculture program of IDEAS For Us that transforms the average American lawn into a bio-verse\, productive micro farms and edible gardens. \nFleet Farming originated in Orlando\, Florida\, in 2014 during a monthly workshop called The IDEAS Hive. Participants at this event collaborated on developing the Fleet Farming business model as a response to the environmental challenges posed by monoculture in agriculture. The workshop focused on finding ways for urban areas to grow food without agriculturally zoned land. The innovative solution that emerged was a sharecropping model that repurposes the most underutilized spaces—residential lawns.

SUMMARY:Forest Bathing with Julie at Mead Botanical Garden
DESCRIPTION:Forest Bathing with Julie at Mead Botanical Garden\n\nForest Bathing with Julie at Mead Botanical Garden – This is NOT a naked bath experience. We will be fully clothed. \n\nForest Bathing is inspired by the Japanese practice of ‘shinrin yoku’. Shinrin means forest and yoku means bath. It’s a process where we experience the forest (nature) through our sense. It’s also scientifically been proven that the trees release a chemical called phytoncide. It’s used to protect them from harmful bugs and germs\, and helps us do the same in our bodies. \nRelax. Let Go. Release. Give Nature…and Receive. ⁣\nTime in Nature is essential to ground and embody the goodness Life has to offer. ⁣It is uplifts the mood\, boosts the immune system\, and relieves stress. \n🌳 We’ll sit with nature and listen. ⁣\n🌳 We’ll meditation\, journal and give into Nature’s invitation. ⁣\n🌳 We’ll Forest Bath. Exchange breaths with the trees\, and receive their healing.⁣ \nAre you wondering about something in your Life? Or looking for answers\, but haven’t had the time to sit still and let the answers come?⁣\nDo you just want to feel good?⁣\nDoes hanging out with trees\, the wind and sun sound like an amazing time to you?⁣<\nInterested in boosting your immune system\, reducing stress\, taking a deep breath\, and an overall sense of well-being? \nIf you answered Yes to any of these questions\, this is the event for you. Join us as Julie guides you to listen and spend intentional time with the plants\, the wind\, the rocks\, the water\, the birds and the general landscape of Mead Botanical Garden. \nYou’ll be guided through this experience by Julie\, plant-based nutritionist\, herbalist and shamanic practitioner.
