SUMMARY:Popcorn Flicks in the Park: THE LEGO MOVIE
DESCRIPTION:Popcorn Flicks in the Park: THE LEGO MOVIE\nThis film is a part of our Popcorn Flicks in the Park series\, which takes place in Central Park\, Winter Park once a month and it’s FREE and open to the public! These films are presented with open captions. \nEmmet (Chris Pratt)\, an ordinary LEGO figurine who always follows the rules\, is mistakenly identified as the Special — an extraordinary being and the key to saving the world. He finds himself drafted into a fellowship of strangers who are on a mission to stop an evil tyrant’s (Will Ferrell) plans to conquer the world. Unfortunately for Emmet\, he is hopelessly — and hilariously — unprepared for such a task\, but he’ll give it his all nonetheless. \nAbout Popcorn Flicks in the Park\nThey are FREE and open to the public! Enzian encourages you to bring a blanket\, a picnic or snacks\, and some family and friends! Popcorn Flicks are typically scheduled at 7PM or 8PM. But may not start until sunset to provide an optimal viewing experience. \nPurchase Tickets \nWhat is Enzian?\nEnzian is Central Florida’s only full-time independent cinema and home of Eden Bar and the Florida Film Festival. Enzian exists to entertain\, inspire\, educate\, and connect the community through film. It is a member-supported\, non-profit cultural organization and all proceeds from membership fees\, ticket sales\, and food and beverage go toward supporting its mission. \nEnzian is a single-screen cinema café offering mostly independent & foreign films with two unique dining options and a variety of special programming. At Enzian\, you will experience a fusion of food and film. \nOur History\nSurrounded by weeping oaks\, a bubbling fountain\, and a beautiful courtyard\, Enzian is a unique movie-going experience. As Central Florida’s only full-time\, not-for-profit alternative cinema\, Enzian exists to entertain\, inspire\, educate\, and connect the community through film. For more than 30 years\, Enzian has championed the belief that “Film Is Art.” Along with first-run independent features\, Enzian offers a variety of special events\, such the nationally-recognized Florida Film Festival.

SUMMARY:Ragtime the Musical
DESCRIPTION:Ragtime the Musical\nLittle Radical Theatrics is thrilled to present its 15th-anniversary production\, Ragtime\, the Musical at the Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater in the Doctor Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. \nAbout The Musical\n“A triumph for the stage\,” according to Time Magazine\, this sweeping musical portrait of early 20th century America tells the story of three families in the pursuit of the American Dream. An award-winning creative team brought E.L. Doctorow’s distinguished novel to life on Broadway\, winning universal acclaim\, including four 1998 Tony Awards and five Drama Desk Awards. Ahren’s and Flaherty’s Ragtime is a compelling epic capturing the American experience at the turn of the 20th century. \nTracking three diverse families in pursuit of the American dream in the volatile “melting pot” of turn-of-the-century New York\, Ragtime confronts the dialectic contradictions inherent in American reality: experiences of wealth and poverty\, freedom and prejudice\, hope and despair. \nLRT’s production of this modern classic musical is directed by Jonathan Barreto and Travis Eaton\, Choreogrpahed by Shawn Lowe and Arius West and Musical Directed by Nishaa Johnson. \nThe 56 person cast features performers of all ages\, genders\, and ethnicities from all over Central Florida. \nPerformances for Ragtime will take place August 2nd at 7:30 PM\, August 3rd at 7:30 and August 4th at 2 PM. \nPurchase Tickets Here \nFor more information on the company please visit www.littleradicaltheatricsinc.com \n \n\nDates \nDate: Friday–Sunday\, August 2–4\, 2024\nTime: 7:30 p.m. (Fri & Sat) & 2 p.m. (Sun Only)\nTickets from: $35 \nLittle Radical Theatrics\nOriginally based in Yonkers\, NY; now based in Orlando\, FL\, Little Radical Theatrics\, Inc. (LRT) a non-profit 501(c)3 community theater. LRT has produced 37 full-scale musicals: 29 in NY\, and 8 in Orlando. These include several regional premieres such as “Roald Dahl’s Matilda”\, “The Addams Family”\, “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” and “Reefer Madness”. \nLittle Radical Theatrics has received numerous grants and awards\, including sweeping the 2019 BroadwayWorldWestchester/Rockland Awards for our 2019 season of “Mamma Mia”\, “Fame” and “Brigadoon” and winning ten awards. This was the most of any local theater company for Orlando’s 2022 BroadwayWorld Awards for our production of “The Addams Family”. Performers who have worked with LRT have appeared on Apple TV’s “Ghost Writer”\, “American Idol”\, “What Would Would You Do?”\, Off-Broadway\, in national commercials\, national tours\, and in countless regional productions.
