In 1865\, the Emancipation Proclamation which was issued on Jaunuary 1\, 1863\, was read to enslaved African Americans in Texas by Gordon Granger. \nJuneteenth has become not only a time to commemorate Black Liberation from the instituation of slavery\, but also a time to highlight the resilience\, solidarity\, and culture of the Black Community. It’s a time for Black Americans to reflect on their ancestral roots and celebrate the freedoms and lives that generations have fought to secure.

Tickets include one complimentary drink available from 4-8 p.m. Event by The 808 Orlando and Thornton Park District \nTickets $15 in advance/$20 at the door | 21+ after 8pm *A portion of proceeds will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. \nPurchase Tickets \nSecond Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida\nSecond Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private\, nonprofit organization that collects\, stores and distributes donated food to more than 625 feeding partners in seven Central Florida counties: Brevard\, Lake\, Orange\, Osceola\, Seminole\, Volusia and Marion. Last year\, with the help of numerous donors\, volunteers and a caring\, committed community\, the food bank distributed enough food for 81 million meals to partner programs such as food pantries\, soup kitchens\, women’s shelters\, senior centers\, day care centers and Kids Cafes. \nIn addition to helping feed the line of our neighbors who need help\, Second Harvest also transforms dozens of lives directly every year. Its collections were built over a half-century by Mrs. McKean and her husband\, Hugh F. McKean (1908–95)\, the Museum’s director until his death. \nFor 35 years\, the Museum was housed on the campus of Rollins College and known as the Morse Gallery of Art. In 1977\, it was relocated to 151 East Welbourne Avenue in Winter Park\, and its name was changed in the mid-1980s to The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. \nLouis Comfort Tiffany Collection\nThe Morse Museum houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933)\, including the artist and designer’s jewelry\, pottery\, paintings\, art glass\, leaded-glass lamps and windows; his chapel interior from the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago; and art and architectural objects from his Long Island country estate\, Laurelton Hall. The Museum’s holdings also include American art pottery\, late 19th- and early 20th-century American paintings\, graphics\, and decorative art.
