It will be a magical evening with exemplary wines\, gourmet cuisine\, spectacular live and silent auctions\, and a private art sale. WESH 2 News anchors Jason Guy and Michelle Imperato will return to emcee the event. We anticipate more than 250 animal lovers will don their cocktail attire and come together to support Franklin’s Friends and local animal welfare. This year is extremely special as we celebrate the gala’s tenth anniversary! Grant applications are rigorously reviewed for veterinary and financial responsibility. We strive to support three pillars of animal welfare: Shelter/Rescue\, Spay/Neuter\, and Community Education. All funds granted are restricted to the use specified in the grant application. \nOur History\nMonisha and Anthony first became involved with Central Florida animal welfare in February 2003 when they adopted their first dog from the SPCA of Central Florida. He was a 2-year old English foxhound whose family decided they couldn’t take care of him anymore. They named him Franklin after Benjamin Franklin\, whose statue is perched on a bench at the University of Pennsylvania where her and her husband lunched daily during our ten years of school in Philadelphia. they were so grateful that Franklin had a safe place to stay while he was waiting to be adopted that thy decided they wanted to become more involved with animal welfare.
