SUMMARY:Kitty Hubbard: Alternative Impressions Exhibition At Mills Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Kitty Hubbard Exhibition At Mills Gallery\nKitty Hubbard: Alternative Impressions will be on exhibit at Mills Gallery from March 15 – April 14\, 2023. Alternative Impressions showcases the alternative photographic process of Kitty Hubbard’s work. \n \nKitty Hubbard: Alternative Impressions\nAlternative Impressions include one-of-a-kind photographic works using alternative processes. Hubbard’s work employs historic analog image-making techniques including cyanotypes and lumen printing that is powered by the sun\, and the moon for exposure. Both analog and digital printing techniques are integrated to migrate to mediums like hand coated fine art papers and fabric. Alternative Impressions includes subject matter like plant materials and personal objects. These become an integral part of the creative process; often interacting chemically with the surfaces they are printed on. \n \nAbout Kitty Hubbard\nKitty Hubbard is an intermedia artist and Associate Professor of Photography in the Department of Art at SUNY Brockport. SUMMARY:The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival 2023
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival 2023\nThe Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival is one of the nation’s oldest\, largest\, and most prestigious outdoor art festivals. The festival debuted in March 1960 as a community project to bring local artists and art lovers together. It’s produced by an all-volunteer board and draws up to 300\,000 visitors each year. Close to 900 artists from around the world applied for this year’s event. An independent panel of three judges select the artists that will exhibit their works. The festival consistently ranks among the top juried fine-art festivals in the country. \nNational accolades include #3 in Art Fair SourceBook’s 2020 festival rankings and #6 in Sunshine Artist’s Top 200 from 2010-2020\, a 10-year ranking of the nation’s most profitable art shows. In ArtFairCalendar’s list of Best Art Fairs we rank #6 in America and #1 in the South. The festival features a wide variety of fine arts and crafts in the following categories: clay\, digital art\, drawings and pastels\, fiber\, glass\, graphics and printmaking\, jewelry\, leather\, metal\, mixed media-2D\, mixed media-3D\, painting\, photography\, sculpture\, watercolor and wood as well as an Emerging Artists category. \nMusic and Entertainment\nAgain\, this year\, the traditional Friday Night Concert has been moved to the Saturday before the festival\, March 11\, and will be a kick-off event for the exciting festival week. Additionally\, during the three days of the festival there will be soft\, contemporary music at the stage in north Central Park. \n \nDonations\nSince 1960\, The Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival has been a community leader in bringing art and the community together and has created wonderful memories for its visitors through the years. Donations to the foundation will help finance programs created to promote art appreciation and education through children’s programming at the annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival\, our scholarship programs at Rollins College and the University of Central Florida and other community outreach programs throughout the year.
