DESCRIPTION:Kitty Hubbard Exhibition At Mills Gallery\nKitty Hubbard: Alternative Impressions will be on exhibit at Mills Gallery from March 15 – April 14\, 2023. Alternative Impressions showcases the alternative photographic process of Kitty Hubbard’s work. \n \nKitty Hubbard: Alternative Impressions\nAlternative Impressions include one-of-a-kind photographic works using alternative processes. Hubbard’s work employs historic analog image-making techniques including cyanotypes and lumen printing that is powered by the sun\, and the moon for exposure. Both analog and digital printing techniques are integrated to migrate to mediums like hand coated fine art papers and fabric. Alternative Impressions includes subject matter like plant materials and personal objects. These become an integral part of the creative process; often interacting chemically with the surfaces they are printed on. \n \nAbout Kitty Hubbard\nKitty Hubbard is an intermedia artist and Associate Professor of Photography in the Department of Art at SUNY Brockport. She completed her BA in Photography at Guilford College in Greensboro\, NC where she studied photography with Merry Moor Winnett and was the first woman to graduate with a Photography concentration in Art at the College in 1987. Hubbard completed her MFA at Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester\, New York in 1998. Its collections were built over a half-century by Mrs. McKean and her husband\, Hugh F. McKean (1908–95)\, the Museum’s director until his death. \nFor 35 years\, the Museum was housed on the campus of Rollins College and known as the Morse Gallery of Art. In 1977\, it was relocated to 151 East Welbourne Avenue in Winter Park\, and its name was changed in the mid-1980s to The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. \nLouis Comfort Tiffany Collection\nThe Morse Museum houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of works by Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848–1933)\, including the artist and designer’s jewelry\, pottery\, paintings\, art glass\, leaded-glass lamps and windows; his chapel interior from the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago; and art and architectural objects from his Long Island country estate\, Laurelton Hall. The Museum’s holdings also include American art pottery\, late 19th- and early 20th-century American paintings\, graphics\, and decorative art.
