SUMMARY:A Wellness Based Class for the Novice Improviser @ SAK Comedy Lab
DESCRIPTION:Improv For Anxiety: A Wellness-Based Class for the Novice Improviser\nPrice: $250.00 | Instructor: Chris Dinger \nImprov For Anxiety is a wellness-based class for the Novice Improviser from SAK Comedy Lab. It’s purpose is to help people who suffer from anxiety learn to live richer\, fuller and more meaningful lives. Whether it’s social anxiety\, stage fright\, public speaking anxiety\, or general anxiety\, improvisation creates an ideal experiential learning environment to practice dealing with your anxiety in a totally different way. \nThrough basic improv exercises\, participants will learn to use the tools of acceptance\, non-judgement\, and present moment awareness to address the thoughts and feelings that can get in the way of living fully. This class examines how the stories we tell ourselves often create unnecessary suffering\, and explores what we can do to bring healing to this area. If you’re someone who has an interest in meeting people in a fun\, accepting environment\, and also want to experience an improv class but with a lighter touch… this class is for you. \nThe first class on 1/29 will be the longest at 3 hours. The remaining five classes are 2 hours each. There will be a break week on February 12th. \nImprov for Anxiety (Six Week Program)\nSundays from 12:30pm — 2:30pm | 6 classes: Jan 29 – Mar 12\, 2023 \nRules at a Glance: Ages 16+ \nClick here to see all rules & regulations \nRegister Here: https://www.sakcomedylab.com/classes/996 \nAbout SAK Comedy Lab\nNowhere else in Florida will you find a place like SAK Comedy Lab. SUMMARY:Sanford Jazz Ensemble: Salute to Black History Month Concert
DESCRIPTION:Sanford Jazz Ensemble: Salute to Black History Month Concert\n\nCheck out the Sanford Jazz Ensemble: Salute to Black History Month Concert. This year’s Black History Month concert will showcase Motown\, classic jazz\, and DooWop. The Sanford Jazz Ensemble (featuring Ron Starks) will play medleys by The Temptations (Papa Was A Rolling Stone and The Way You Do The Things You Do)\, The 4 Tops (Baby I Need Your Lovin’ and Reach Out)\, and Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On. \nThe band will honor the great composers and band leaders Duke Ellington\, Count Basie\, and Thelonious Monk\, and the program will conclude with a medley of Stylistics songs including You Make Me Feel Brand New and Betcha By Golly Wow. \nTime: 3:00pm – 5:00pm\nTickets; $20 \n \n\nThe Sanford Jazz Ensemble\nThe Sanford Jazz Ensemble began as the “Altamonte Jazz Ensemble” which for decades\, under the direction of Mike Arena\, brought the gift of jazz to the Central Florida community. \nAfter Mike’s passing in 2010\, the band moved to historic downtown Sanford and is excited to call the beautiful Wayne Densch Performing Arts Center its home. Now under the direction of Dave Weaver\, the Sanford Jazz Ensemble has expanded its repertoire beyond traditional big band jazz to include original arrangements of classic and contemporary pop\, R&B\, and funk tunes. \nThe SJE is made up solely of community musicians who donate their time and talent to perform live jazz for Central Florida audiences. A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization\, the band relies on those who enjoy the music and donate to keep the SJE “swinging.”
