Orlando Student Tutoring Offers Resources for Students In Quarentine

Orlando Student Tutoring is an organization that was established earlier this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. They are a free tutoring service run by high school volunteers. These volunteer tutors help students with academic assignments and coursework. Their enthusiastic tutors are educated in subjects ranging from science to art.  Discover all that Orlando Student Tutoring has to offer.

The Mission of Orlando Student Tutoring

At OST, the mission is to ease the burden of parents and teachers through this pandemic. Since then, we have helped over 160 students across Florida and have logged over 350 hours of tutoring.

How The Tutoring Process Works

Orlando Student Tutoring connects students with tutors. The process goes as follows:

  1. Sign-Up – Sign up for a FREE tutoring session or a summer course
  2. Connect To A Tutor – Orlando Student Tutoring will email you within 24 hours and introduce you to a qualified tutor
  3. Schedule a Meeting – You will be able to get in contact with a tutor to schedule a time and place to meet online!

OST offers the most professional and enthusiastic tutors from Lake Highland Preparatory School. Their driven tutors are juniors and seniors active in AP classes, sports, and clubs. OST offers tutoring in the following subjects:

Free Interactive Summer Courses

Yes, you’ve heard that correctly. Orlando Studnet Tutoring offers FREE interactive summer courses. These courses help students expand their horizons and explore new interests. Summer courses include coding, creative writing, art, math, science and robotics.

Coding Academy

Ages: 5th-10th grade

Prepare for CODE-OFF! Students immerse themselves into the digital world by discovering the fascinating power of computer science! Depending on a student’s experience, they can be taught the most basic concepts of coding all the way to advanced Java! Projects will require a laptop.

Creative Writing!

To be or not to be a better writer: that is the question. Students will practice narrative craft and explore elements of creative thinking & writing. Encountering several forms, like poetry & storytelling, they will develop their unique voices. Classes will require a device where they can type. We hope to see you there!

Science Fair!​

Ages: K-4th grade

Explore the fields of science through fun and interactive experiments that you can perform at home! From soap powered boats to flying rings, we’ll be exploring scientific concepts behind everyday life. All experiments can be done using common materials found at home. There are new projects each week!

Times: Tuesday & Thursday / 1:00-1:30 PM
