There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding the recent pandemic and shutdown. The uncertainty and weight have especially hit local businesses and restaurants. Small business owners are worried about the future of their business as well as the impact it will have on their staff. Even though we are told to avoid “non-essential travel” there are still ways that we can support our favorite local spots. Here are a few ways that we can support local businesses in Winter Park:

Order Carry-out and Delivery For Restaurants and Bars

Most states have shut down dining in as a precaution. However, you can still choose to pick-ups and delivery for restaurants. Check apps like Postmates, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Doordash, and Seamless. If you are running low on groceries, it’s worth avoiding large crowds. Plus, you don’t have to cook!

Purchase Gift Cards For Your Local Favorites

At some point, businesses are going to open again. When that time comes you’ll have a reason to visit them! Purchase a gift card to your fav\orite family-owned restaurant or shop. Make sure local businesses get some income flowing.

Reschedule Appointments Instead of Cancelling

Take the necessary precautions of social distancing! However, that doesn’t mean you have to cancel your appointments. Choose to reschedule that hair appointment or masseuse appointment instead of canceling. We all need a morale boost at this time.

Make Some Noise

Since we’re all spending more time online, why not bring some attention to your favorite local business? If you know a restaurant that is still open, share it on Facebook! Post pictures of the goodies that you’ve purchased from your favorite boutique. Support local businesses in Winter Park!
