Garber Development Continues to Expand Repurposed Preservation in Central Florida

Garber Development is proud to announce the acquisition of its newest Central Florida property, 1100 S. Orlando Avenue. Built in 1963, the 7,000-square-foot building will be a mixed-use development called “Mills Place” and is expected to have diversified tenants such as local retailers and restaurateurs; in addition, the project will have a dedicated outdoor space with a distinctive landscape design, providing an enhanced social atmosphere with a neighborhood vibe.

Adjacent to the soon-to-be redeveloped Orange Avenue corridor, Mills Place is within walking distance to one of Garber Development’s first projects, the State Auto building, home to Foxtail Coffee Co., Foxtail Farmhouse, The Bear & Peacock Brewing Company, Create Your Nature and Dolce Vita Salon. Similar to State Auto, this project will bring a fresh, architectural tone to the area, preserving design features from the building’s original structure while adding special elements to meet and exceed the expectations of today’s clientele.

“Mills Place will be a unique space for people to shop, eat and play while connecting and interacting with old friends, new acquaintances or friendly faces,” Garber Development President and Owner Lamont Garber said. “The goal for our projects is to preserve buildings from the past while bringing new purpose for future use. Helping to redevelop the Orange Avenue corridor is an extension of our brand’s philosophy.”

Garber Development is spearheading transformation in Central Florida by preserving buildings with historical integrity and reimagining the opportunities each project can bring to the community. The State Auto Building has become a cornerstone, and its nearby sister project, Mills Place will continue to expand the accessibility, walkability, and sociability for residents and visitors in the area. Construction is expected to start spring 2020 and the project plans to have between three and four tenants.
